No Damage or Injuries Reported after 6.2 Quake off Haida Gwaii

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Haida Gwaii yesterday evening.
The US Geological Survey says the earthquake hit around 9:30pm.
It reports the quake's epicentre was 196 kilometres west-southwest of Bella Bella at a depth of 10 kilometres.



Earthquake Canada says the tremor was located about 353 kilometres southwest of Kitimat, and was "lightly felt'' on northern Vancouver Island and the adjacent mainland coast.
There was no tsunami warning issued and officials are reporting no threat of landslides.

The USGS also reports a much smaller 4.3 quake 122 kms west of Craig, Alaska, shortly before 1am this morning (Thursday).
