CIHL: River Kings reclaim league lead after win over Prince Rupert

The Terrace River Kings have reclaimed first place in the Central Interior Hockey League standings heading into the Christmas break.

The River Kings scored three goals in the third period, en route to a 6-3 win over the Prince Rupert Rampage Saturday night at the Terrace Sportsplex.

The two teams were tied for the lead, entering the weekend.

The River Kings also had their teddy bear toss during one of the intermissions, and collected a total of 205 Teddy bears for kids in the community.

Elsewhere, the Kitimat Ice Demons split a pair of weekend home games, beating the Hazelton Wolverines 5-2 Friday night but then losing 3-1 to the Smithers Steelheads Saturday.

And the Quesnel Kangaroos doubled the Williams Lake Stampeders 8-4 Saturday.
