CN Derailment Between Prince Rupert and Terrace

CN Rail says no dangerous goods were involved, in what the company is calling a minor derailment which occured west of Terrace last evening.

CN says three loaded wood-pellet cars and a locomotive derailed at around 7:30pm Thursday.

One of the  wood pellet railcars spilled some of its content and CN crews are cleaning up the area.

CN says there were no fires reported and there is no danger to the public or to the environment.

UPDATED:  CN says the crew sustained minor injuries.

CN is investigating the cause of the incident.

The CN mainline is now reopened.

Highway traffic is getting through, but motorists can expect delays.
