COVID Surge Includes North Today

Kathy Brookes

Eight new cases of COVID-19 are being reported in the Northern Health Region.

They were among 30 new cases reported around the province today by Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.

As usual, no information is provided about exactly where the latest cases are located.

One new death from COVID-19 was also reported -- in a long-term care facility in Vancouver.

There are now 304 active cases of the novel coronavirus around B-C.

Many are the result of recent exposure events.

Today, Henry also announced new restrictions for resorts, vacation rental properties and house boats to help prevent the spread of the virus in those environments.

That follows stricter rules for bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
