Charles Hays Secondary School welcomes new Vice Principal ahead of the new school year

There have been many changes and promotions all around School District 52's staffing line-up. 

The Acting Superintendent Sandy Jones announced James Zlatanov will become the new Vice-Principal at Charles Hays Secondary School effective August 1st this year.

Jones says Mr. Zlatavnov has served the district well in a variety of roles, and she looks  forward to seeing the contribution he will make at the city's largest school. 

Zaltanov joined the district in 2015 teaching at Prince Rupert Middle School in the Aboriginal Education department , then in 2018 he was appointed Vice Principal at Roosevelt Park Community School. 

His goal as the new the Vice Principal at Charles Hays is to be  approachable to students and look for ways to grow in their learning journeys together. 

"We want to work towards achieving equity for all our learners."

This news comes after Carla Rourke, former vice-principal of Charles Hays was appointed to the position of principal effective June 11. The current high school principal, Sandy Pond, is now the districts director of education.

Zlatanov believes he brings great value to students and is very excited to start this new chapter.
