Rampage Drop Opening Game at Coy Cup

A rough start for the Prince Rupert Rampage at the Coy  Cup Provincial senior men's Hockey Championships in Fort St John.

The Rampage lost 8-3 to the host Fort St John Flyers last night.

The Flyers scored three times in the opening period and never looked back.

Also yesterday, the defending Coy Cup champion Dawson Creek Canucks outscored the Williams Lake Stampeders 8-2.

Day Two action today sees the Rampage taking on Williams Lake at 3 o'clock this afternoon, followed by an 8pm game between Fort St John and Dawson Creek.

The round-robin wraps up tomorrow and then the second- and third-place teams play in the semi-final on Friday night, while the first-place team advances directly to the Saturday night championship game.
