Rampage Still Looking For First Win at Coy Cup

John Crawford

The Prince Rupert Rampage have suffered their second straight loss at the Coy Cup Provincial Senior Men's Hockey Championships in Fort St John.

The Williams Lake Stampeders scored three times in the third period to defeat the Rampage 7-4 last night.

All four Prince Rupert goals were scored on the power play.

The Rampage have one more round-robin game -- that's today (3pm) against the defending Coy Cup champions -- the Dawson Creek Canucks.

The Canucks lost to the host Fort St John Flyers 3-1 in yesterday's other game.

Fort St John leads the round-robin with a 2-and-0 record, followed by Dawson Creek and Williams Lake -- who are both 1-and-1;  the Rampage are 0-and-2.

The Flyers will play Williams Lake at 8 tonight to end the round-robin portion of the tournament; then the 2nd and 3rd place teams meet tomorrow night in the semi-final, while the first-place team advances directly to Saturday's Championship game.
