Terrace RCMP say a man in his 30's has been killed in what appears to have been a hit-and-run collision near the city.

Police say the man's body was discovered yesterday in a ditch along the north side of Highway 16  about four kilometres west of the city.

Friends have confirmed the man was 30-year-old Cameron Kerr of Terrace.

RCMP say his injuries were consistent with having been struck by a vehicle, and that supporting evidence was found at the scene.

Police believe he had been walking on the shoulder facing traffic, when he was struck sometime between 3am and 7am yesterday morning.

RCMP are looking for a larger pickup that would have significant damage to the passenger side and may be missing a passenger-side mirror.

Police are urging for anyone with information, or dash camera video footage, that was driving that route between those hours to come forward.
