The sold out Tamitik arena was the place to be Saturday night in Kitimat.

A game between the Montreal Canadiens Alumni vs the Kitimat Guns and Hoses team, which consists of local police and fire department staff. LNG Canada co-hosted the game, along with the District of Kitimat, with the proceeds going to raise money for Kidsport, a charity that aids kids to participate in various sports.

LNG External Affairs Director, Susannah Pierce explained the importance of this event.

"I think we all recognize that for children and for adults that sports is a very important part, not only just bringing people together but to enjoy themselves; like tonight, it's also really good for health and so at LNG Canada, we are about health and safety and this is one of the ways to get directly with kids, directly with families to make sure they are living healthy productive lives"

The event was made possible thanks to number of volunteers that helped on and off the ice. One of the Event Organizers, Mike Forward spoke about donations and its positive impact.

"With LNG Canada making a donation of $20,000 to Kidsport to start and then all the funds being raised tonight and the events this week also going to Kidsport, it was a direct investment back into the community which is so helpful in so many ways."

Some players were more competitive than others and Montreal Canadiens alumnus, Pierre Dagenais explained his excitement and reason for playing.

"I heard the building is going to be packed. I hope that they have a good team because we are ready to win. You know its fun to be with the guys again, travel with the guys refresh good memory from the old time and I'm very happy to be here."

The crowd was entertained by much more than the main game. Performances included figure skating, kid's hockey and some practical jokes. Saturday's event, sponsored by LNG Canada in support of Kidsport, didn't disappoint. Everyone involved helped make sure that the fundraiser reached its goal.
