A logging truck driver was taken to hospital with what are believe to be minor injuries, after his vehicle tipped over on the Sande Overpass this morning.

Constable Crystal Evelyn says Terrace RCMP were called to the scene at around 7:50 -- the Terrace Fire Department and BC Ambulance also attended.

"The logging truck that was turning right (southbound) onto the overpass from Highway 16 tipped as it was taking the corner and it spilled its logs onto the road; no other vehicles or pedestrians were struck or hurt;  the driver did receive non-life-threatening injuries and he was taken to hospital as a precaution," she explained.

The overpass was closed to pedestrians and vehicle traffic as a safety precaution, but it's now open again.

Officials from WorkSafe BC, Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement and CN Police were also on scene.
