Terrace RCMP have released information about a series of collisions in downtown Terrace yesterday afternoon that damaged three vehicles and a tree --  and sent two people to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Constable Crystal Evelyn says that, at around 3:10 yesterday, police received multiple reports of a vehicle crash at the corner of Lakelse Avenue and Kalum Street.

Officers arrived to find a Pontiac laying on its roof on the sidewalk, near the spot where the old Northcoast Anglers Fishing Shop used to be.

Cst-Crystal-Evelyn-Terrace-RCMP-3.jpg"Police spoke with people in the area and according to reports, it sounds like the Pontiac was heading westbound on Lakelse Avenue and looking to make a right-hand turn onto Kalum, when it was struck from behind by a Suzuki -- and that's what ended up pushing the Pontiac through the intersection and onto the sidewalk and into the tree;  from there, the Suzuki ended up continuing to travel westbound on Lakelse Avenue, it struck another vehicle and then came to a stop near Emerson," she explained.

The driver of the Suzuki was ticketed for driving without due care.
