Pedestrian Injured, then ticketed, after collision near Sande Overpass in Terrace

A pedestrian suffered what police say were non-life-threatening injuries, when he was hit by a truck this morning on Keith Avenue near the Sande Overpass.

RCMP say the collision happened at around 10:52 this morning.

Police say the truck driver was not at fault, and they issued a violation ticket to the pedestrian for failing to yield to a vehicle while not in a crosswalk.

The right turn lane off the Sande Overpass and the westbound lane of Keith Avenue were closed temporarily while the RCMP investigated the collision.

A man was taken to hospital following a motor vehicle incident Wednesday morning.

Around 10:52 a.m., July 3, 2019, Terrace RCMP were called to the area of Hwy 16 near the Sande Overpass for a report of a collision involving a tow truck and pedestrian.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The tow-truck driver was determined not to be at fault. The pedestrian was issued a violation ticket for fail to yield to vehicle when not in crosswalk.

Police are still on scene investigating. The westbound and right turn lane of Hwy 16, west of the Sande Overpass are still closed but expected to reopen shortly.
