A facility for a new venture -- bagging plastic pellets -- are under construction at the Port of Prince Rupert.

Ray-Mont Logistics today announced work on a new plastic pellet export facility is underway.

A joint news release with the Port says the first phase should be completed by the end of August and the multi-million- dollar facility will improve the speed and efficiency of plastic pellet exports in containers for producers in Alberta served by CN Rail.

Ray-Mont President and CEO Charles Richard says the project will "reroute and realign the movement of plastics in North America."
