Tourism Prince Rupert Launches this years Summer Campaign See for Yourself

Tourism Prince Rupert has launched this years summer’s campaign titled See for Yourself.

Executive Director Ceilidh Marlow said over the past few years they focused on building general awareness around Prince Rupert as a tourism destination but they never highlighted individual specific businesses. This year’s campaign is focusing on the specifics and the beauty of the city.  

"We're doing things quite differently this year in an effort to help our local tourism economy recover  from COVID-19, so we have a numbered pf partnered businesses that we are going to be highliting promotions and deals and try to drive that very specific visitor revenue."

Marlow said the package will have two phases that will encourage families and couples to come for a weekend getaway.

"So first the first two weeks of the campaign were focusing on smaller flash deals and then after that we'll be opening it up with a  number of accommodations so hotels, and bnb promotions as well as some outdoor adventure promotions to encourage our neighbours in the north and across the regions to come and build their own 2-3 night weekend getaway package."
The campaign will be delivered in a completely digital format with sponsored social media, online advertising and email newsletter express the unique promotions aimed to support Prince Rupert tourism sector.
