Pedestrian Struck Outside Prince Rupert RCMP Detatchment

Prince Rupert RCMP responded to a call this morning of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:30am on the corner of McBride Street and 6th Avenue, when a red van travelling North struck a woman in the crosswalk outside the RCMP detatchment.

The woman, approximately 45 to 50 years old, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have issued a ticket to the driver of the van for failing to yield for a pedestrian at a crosswalk.
