Emergency Response Team assist in weekend arrest in Prince Rupert

A weekend raid in Prince Rupert involving members of the North District Emergency Response Team resulted in the arrest of a 45-year-old local man -- and the seizure of a weapon and drugs.

RCMP say the search warrant was executed in the early morning hours of Saturday, in the 1500 block of 8th Avenue West.

Members of the Police Dog Services unit were also on the scene.

RCMP say they seized drugs, drug paraphernalia and a loaded shotgun.

The suspect was later released, but is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Search Warrant at a Residence

Police searched a residence with a warrant in the 1500 block of 8th Ave W.

On May 30, 2020 in the early morning hours police, along with the assistance of the North District Emergency Response Team, and Police Dog Services executed a search warrant on a home in the 1500 block of 8th Ave W.

As a result of the search police located a loaded shotgun, drugs, and drug paraphernalia.

A 45 year old Prince Rupert man was arrested as a result of this and was later released with a future court date.

The Prince Rupert want to remind the public to report any suspicious activity to the Prince Rupert RCMP or to call Crimestoppers.
