Man pleads guilty to sexual exploitation
A former employee of a group home in Terrace has been sentenced to a year in jail after pleading guilty to sexually exploiting a woman in his care.
Fifty-nine-year-old Philip Gordon Beggs was arrested in October, following an incident involving a woman with developmental disabilities.
He pleaded guilty last Thursday to the charge of sexual exploitation, while a charge of sexual assault was stayed.
Beggs will serve 297 days in jail, in addition to the 60 days he's been in custody since his arrest.
The judge has also ordered he is not to act as a caregiver again.
