Terrace's Spirit Square Nominated as "Great Place in Canada"

City Planner begins campaign for national recognition

The new Spirit Square at Terrace's George Little Park has been nominated as a "Great Place in Canada".    City Planner David Block submitted the nomination to the Canadian Institute of Planners' contest, which is a new website initiative to showcase Canada's great public spaces, streets and neighbourhoods.

Terrace's Spirit Square is up against some pretty stiff competition, including Vancouver's Robson Square, Alberta's Waterton Lakes Provincial Park, and Niagara Falls!

Block has begun an email campaign to encourage Terrace residents -- and anyone else -- to log onto the Institute's website and place their vote.

To find it, click  http://www.cip-icu.ca/greatplaces/en/  and scroll down the list under the Public Spaces heading and place your vote.
