Measures taken to prevent vandalism

Terrace RCMP are expressing satisfaction with their peacekeeping efforts over the May long weekend.
Police and Forest Service personnel wanted to prevent the kind of vandalism and trouble that occurred last year at the Hart Farm and Redsands campgrounds, north of Terrace. So they imposed a ban on alcohol at those spots and police and Conservation officers conducted roadblocks.
RCMP say they also worked closely with staff at the provincial park at Lakelse Lake to deal with any trouble there.
Campers at two sites at Lakelse Lake were evicted because of underage drinking. But otherwise, police report very few problems and they intend to take the same approach next year.
