Prince Rupert Man Pleads Guilty to Nass Valley Assault Charges

A Prince Rupert man has pleaded guilty to assault and weapons charges, in connection with an incident last Wednesday in New Aiyansh -- and a separate incident in 2009.
Forty-two-year-old Robert Scott Eli has been sentenced to six months in jail, to be followed by a year of probabation.
He was arrested in a home on Trinity Avenue in New Aiyansh Wednesday, after Lisims Nass Valley R-C-M-P were told he'd held a knife to the throat of a man in his Wright Boulevard home. That same morning, Eli had reportedly thrown a cooler at a woman for refusing him entry to her residence.
Eli was already facing a charge of aggravated assault, after a man was seriously injured on Tait Avenue back on August 1st, 2009.
On Friday, he pleaded guilty to one count of assault causing bodily harm for the 2009 attack, and two counts of assault with a weapon for last week's incidents.
