Missing Dynamite Likely in Someone's Possession; say Terrace RCMP

7/26/2012

Terrace R-C-M-P are now saying the explosives that went missing on West Kalum Forest Service Road in Terrace.. have likely been picked up by someone.

This conclusion comes after police scoured the road from end-to-end.. only to come up empty-handed.

Inspector Dana Hart says there is a high probability that someone knowlingly.. or unknowingly is handling the missing explosives.

"We do know that there were a number of people that were travelling along the road, from the time that the original transport occurred until they were discovered missing. There's a good possibility someone's picked them up."

The company who owned the dynamite is now offering a two thousand dollar reward for the boxes' return.

Three boxes of the Power Pro explosives fell off the back of a truck on Monday July 16th.

One box was recovered right away, but two boxes.. containing 17 sticks of dynamite each, have been missing since.
