Smoke from a wildfire southwest of Houston being reported as far away as Smithers and Kitimat.
The Northwest Fire Centre says the blaze near Morice Lake covers 250 hectares and is being monitored right now as it's allowed to burn. There are two cabins in the area, but officials say the fire is not burning toward them.
Firefighters are prepared to step in if the fire spreads beyond established trigger points.
Meanwhile, the centre says a total of 40 firefighters have made excellent progress containing a 1,600 hectare fire near Boya Lake Park, north of Dease Lake, along its south and west flanks.
That will protect the park and Highway 37.
