The public is getting its final chance to comment on plans for a potash export terminal on Prince Rupert's Ridley Island.
The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is conducting a comprehensive environmental assessment of the Canpotex Terminal Project.
Along with a marine wharf, storage shed and loading facility, the project would include a rail loop and transmission line, and an access road with a rail overpass and underpass. Construction would include infilling of foreshore marine habitat.
Canpotex is a consortium that markets and delivers potash for three Saskatchewan-based potash producers -- Agrium, Mosaic and Potash Corp.
The Prince Rupert terminal could handle up to 13 million tonnes a year. Potash is used to produce fertilizer.
The public has until October 5th to submit comments.
