Members of Drug Gang in the Terrace Area Arrested

9/25/2012

RCMP say they've made arrests and broken up a major drug trafficking operation in the Terrace area.

Police raided a number of locations last Wednesday, including three grow ops, and Inspector Dana Hart says they seized 110 illegal firearms, along with cash, and drugs including marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy.

"The investigation focused on allegations that marijuana, cocaine and ecstacy were being trafficked in Terrace from residents associated to a crime group. Mr. David Edwardson has been charged with 11 drug trafficking and fire arms related offences. He appeared in court last.. September 20th and is remanded in custody until his appearance on October 5th for a bail hearing. We do anticipate extra charges to be laid against Mr Edwardson as well as other members of the criminal group."

Five other people were also arrested as a result of the investigation.

Hart says last week's arrests follow a 14-month police operation, led by the R-C-M-P federal drug enforcement branch.

And he's pleased with the results, saying the organized crime group they've broken up posed a significant safety threat to community.
