RAINFALL WARNING FOR KITIMAT AREA

50-80 mms expected by this afternoon

   A rainfall warning is in effect for areas of the North Coast region -- specifically the Kitimat area.    Environment Canada says Kitimat could be in for between 50 and 80 millimetres of rain by this afternoon, as an intense frontal system crosses the region.
   The Central Coast could be even wetter -- with up to 110 millimetres of rain expected around Bella Coola. 
   The rain should end by late this afternoon as the front moves southwards.

Rainfall totals of 110 mm over central coast coastal sections.

Rainfall totals of 50 to 80 mm for inland central coast and inland north coast mainly over southern sections near Kitimat.

An intense frontal system moving through the central coast of British Columbia is bringing heavy rain. Rainfall totals are expected to reach 110 mm over central coast coastal sections through this morning. Totals over inland sections of the central coast and north coast mainly over southern sections near Kitimat will reach 50 to 80 mm by this afternoon. The rain will end by late this afternoon as the front moves southwards.

This system is also bringing strong winds over the central coast. Winds southwest 70 gusting to 90 km/h are expected this morning.
