The Smithers Steelheads have picked up where they left off last season.

    The defending C-I-H-L and Coy Cup champions won the pre-season Challenge Cup tournament held in Terrace over the weekend.
    
    The Steelheads erupted for five goals in the third period yesterday, to beat the hometown Terrace River Kings 7-2 in the final.  

    The Prince Rupert Rampage and Kitimat Ice Demons also participated in the tournament.

    The C-I-H-L regular season begins this weekend.
