The Smithers Steelheads remain unbeatable -- but it was close on Saturday in Terrace. The Steelheads built up a 4-0 first-period lead, then held off a River Kings rally to win 5-4, in Central Interior Hockey League action.
Elsewhere, the Kitimat Ice Demons split a pair of weekend games in the Cariboo, beating the Williams Lake Stampeders 5-2 Saturday but losing to the Quesnel Kangaroos 4-2 yesterday.
The Prince Rupert Rampage were also in the Cariboo, where they lost 9-5 to the Lac La Hache Tomahawks Saturday, and then suffered a 7-1 defeat in Williams Lake yesterday.
And the Omenica Ice earned their first victory of the season, edging Quesnel 6-5 in a shootout Saturday.
