Gitxsan Summit Continues in Hazelton

High profile speakers on agenda

    Several high profile developments will be in the spotlight, at Day Two of the 2012 Gitxsan Summit, taking place at the Gitanmaax Hall in Hazelton.
    Following an opening address by Jim Angus, there will be speeches from newspaper publisher David Black, who hopes to build an oil refinery north of Kitimat;  Seabridge Gold's Elizabeth Miller and Spectra Energy's Doug Bloom.    Bloom hosted a "telephone town hall meeting" on Tuesday, to explain details of a proposed natural gas pipeline to be built from northeast B-C to an L-N-G plant planned for Prince Rupert. 
    Spectra is the sponsor of Day Two of the Gitxsan Summit.

    Other speakers today include Rick Connors and Jako Krushnisky of the Gitxsan Development Corporation, Catherine Craig of Brinkman Forests, Jeffrey Thrasher of Evergreen Bioheat, Jim Mucklow of Fortune Minerals and Stikine MLA Doug Donaldson.

    And Dr Peter Newbery and Tom Berekoff will update the Skeena Sport and Recreation Complex project. 
    The keynote speaker at tonight's banquet will be hometown hero Carol Huynh -- who won an Olympic gold medal in wrestling at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
