Former Burns Lake Mayor Luke Strimbold is expected to enter guilty pleas today, in connection with a slew of sex charges involving minors.

The BC Prosecution Service says Strimbold is to appear in court in Smithers this afternoon.

Strimbold is facing 29 charges, including sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching involving six male teens, all of whom were under the age of 16 at the time.

It's not clear how many of those charges he plans to plead guilty to.

Strimbold was the youngest mayor in BC history when he was elected in 2011.

He resigned in September of 2016.

His alleged offences happened both during the time he was mayor and afterward.
