Terrace Aquatic Centre To Close for a Month to Address Problems

John Crawford

The newly-renovated Terrace and District Aquatic Centre is going to be closed for most of September, while crews fix some issues associated with the recent renovation project.

The city released a notice today, saying the closure would begin on Labour Day -- September 2nd -- in order to allow the completion of the facility renewal project, which had closed the pool from March of 2017 to November of last year.

It's anticipated the facility will be closed for about a month, during which time crews will address tile and painting deficiencies which have been noted.

The city says it'll make every effort to keep the disruption to a minimum -- and that pass-holders will be credited for the time of the shutdown.

It's also in the process of hiring lifeguards, in preparation for the re-opening of the Aquatic Centre.
