Terrace City Council will be looking a lot different come this fall as two councillors have recently announced they will not be seeking re- election.

Councillor Stacey Tyers, an advocate for the Terrace and District Community Services Society announced through a post on Facebook you will not see her name on the ballot this October.

Within one week of her announcement, Councillor Michael Prevost also announced he will not be running either.

Prevost who is a Registered Nurse, cited a new regional role with Northern Health requiring him to travel frequently as a reason contributing to his decision.

Tyers recently underwent cancer treatment, and said her experience taught her to value her time and use it wisely, where it will make a difference and have an impact.

Councillors Lynne Christensen, Brian Downie, Sean Bujtas, and James Cordeiro all look like their plan is to seek re- election.

Mayor Carol Leclerc has committed to run for her 2nd mayoral term.
