A snowmobiler suffered a back injury while riding in the Trapper Mountain area, east of Terrace, yesterday.

Members of the Terrace Search-and-Rescue Back Country Response team flew by helicopter to help aid the man.

Spokesperson Dave Jephson says three SAR technicians were flown by Great Slave Helicopters to the site.

"Crews mobilized and were able to fly in and retrieve the individual who had been cared for by his fellow sledders up at the trapper cabin -- we were able to get him into the helicopter safely and pass him off to EHS where they were able to get him to the hospital where he's currently there at this time," Jephson explained.

The man's condition hasn't been released.
