A man was robbed of his vehicle at gunpoint last night in Thornhill -- moments after an armed man attempted to enter a nearby home -- and police are trying to determine if the two incidents were connected.
Police say that at around 6:10 last evening, a man sitting in his blue-grey Dodge 1500 pickup on Desjardins Avenue near the tennis courts heard the sound of car doors -- and looked up to see a man standing next to his window and pointing a gun at him.
He was then assaulted and robbed, before the gunman and an accomplice drove off in his truck.
The truck has since been recovered by police, and is being examined by the Terrace RCMP's Forensic Identification Unit
The gunman is described as a slim man in his 20's, about six feet tall, with a medium complexion.
