Conservation Officers Investigate Reports of Dog Killed by a Wolf in Kitimat

John Crawford

The BC Conservation Office in Terrace says it's investigating reports of a small dog in Kitimat being attacked and killed by a wolf over the weekend.

Reports on social media say the dog was attacked in a neighbourhood in the middle of town on Friday night.

Sergeant Tracy Walbauer says his officers are looking into the report but have not been able to confirm that a wolf was responsible.

However, he says there are wolves in the area -- as well as foxes, coyotes and even stray dogs -- and pet owners should be careful.
