Woman Tasered During Arrest in Terrace

Kathy Brookes

R.C.M.P. say they used a Conductive Energy Weapon -- commonly referred to as a taser -- to stop a woman from attacking a man with a metal pipe in downtown Terrace last week.

Police say the incident happened around 2:40 Thursday morning in the 4600 block of Lakelse Avenue.

They say police -- with their weapons drawn -- told the woman to drop the pipe, but she continued her armed pursuit of the man. Then, an officer used a taser and police were able to safely disarm her.

RCMP say the woman was taken to hospital and then to the police cells to sober up.

She was later released on an undertaking to appear in court for assault with a weapon.
