Kaien Trails Seeks Assistance With Grant

The Kaien Island Trail Enhancement and Recreation Society is asking the city for help in order to secure a grant for the McClymont Park Trail upgrade.

The society applied for funding through the BC Rural Dividend Fund earlier this year.

The grant was denied because the society is too new to qualify for money.

Now, the group is asking the city to apply on its behalf so it can move forward on the design phase.

Council decided at its recent meeting to have the chief financial officer look at the grant and review guidelines to see if it's a possible avenue.

McClymont is just one path Kaien Trails is hoping to upgrade to improve the connectivity around the city.
