The public's chance to participate in the review of Enbridge's proposed Northern Gateway project will be coming up soon.

The company expects to submit the proposal to a Joint Review Panel of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency and the National Energy Board. N-E-B spokesperson Kent Lien says money is available for those interested in participating in the process.

"Anyone can apply for that funding," says Lien, adding "that program is administered by the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency, and then an independent review committee assesses the applications and then decides how the funding is distributed."

Lien says once the project submission is received from Enbridge, the review process can take about 18 months.

He and two other members of the N-E-B outlined the process at the November board meeting of the Kitimat-Stikine Regional District.
