Funding for Youth Groups

Bulkley Valley Stikine MLA Dennis Mackay has announced grant funding for a few area youth groups today.  The Burns Lake Band will receive 20-thousand dollars for after-school and evening sports programs, which will promote health and encourage team-building skills.  The Tahltan Heath and Social Services authority will use their 20-thousand dollar grant for the Tahltan Outdoor Leadership Program.  That program will teach leadership, self-discipline and teamwork, based on traditional Tahltan methods, beliefs and values.  The grant funding comes from forfeited funds by the province as a result of unlawful activity.
