Hazelton Trail System Receives Provincial Help

The Village of Hazelton will be expanding its Eagle Down Trail system, with funding help from the province.   Bulkley Valley-Stikine MLA Dennis MacKay announced a contribution of 22-thousand, through the province's "Local-Motion" fund. 

MacKay says the trail system will finally allow the Village of Hazelton to link up with the District of New Hazelton through a recreational, non-motorized trail.   Mayor Alice Maitland says the Eagle Down Trail is a historic part of Hazelton, originally used for pack trains when no other mode of transportation was possible.
