The northwest's Member of Parliament says these are some of the darkest times the forest industry has ever faced -- and people need help NOW.

New Democrat Nathan Cullen and the BC Community Development Trust are hosting a series of information sessions this week, to help workers access federal money -- money Cullen says is available, only because the opposition parties forced the hand of the Harper Tories.

"This is helping people get at the $129-million Community Development Trust, that we got out of the federal government, and it'll let folks get right at the money and make the applications on the spot for training and some other things," said Cullen

The information sessions take place Wednesday -- in Smithers, at the Old Church, from 10am til noon;  and at the Royal Canadian Legion in Houston from 3 til 5pm;  as well as Thursday at the College of New Caledonia in Burns Lake between 10am and noon.
