Yet another Northwest community has been granted money to build a so-called "Spirit Square". The latest community gathering place will be located in Stewart's Memorial Park.
Healthy Living Minister Mary Polak has announced the province is contributing $30-thousand to pay for water and rock features, seating, picnic tables, a walkway and landscaping.
The Spirit Square program is part of the province's celebration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Crown Colony of British Columbia.
"It is opportunities like the Spirit Square grant that allow small northern communities to continue with projects that wouldn't otherwise be completed," says Stewart Mayor Angela Brand-Danuser.
