Smithers saw its second protest in less than a month where people have rallied against government-imposed health measures and restrictions, the media, and their “loss of freedoms.”

Staff Sergeant Terry Gillespie said the protest happened on Saturday in downtown Smithers with approximately one hundred people in attendance.

He added no violation tickets were issued as the incident is still underway.

Gillespie said there was a violation ticket handed out at the first demonstration on December 12 with a fine of 2,300 dollars.
