Highway 16 closed west of Gitsegukla because of accident

Highway 16 has reopened to single-lane alternating traffic just west of Gitsegukla after a three-vehicle crash earlier today.

It happened around 11 o'clock this morning, and traffic was moving again with minor delays by 4 pm.

RCMP Spokesperson Corporal Madonna Saunderson said members from the New Hazelton detachment responded to the incident.

The crash happened at a spot where there was no detour available. Again the highway is open now to single-lane alternating traffic.
