Klemtu Lockdown Ended

Kathy Brookes

The lockdown in Klemtu, south of Prince Rupert, has ended as the Kitasoo Xai'Xais Nation says COVID-19 tests have all come back negative.

An Emergency Advisory posted by the band Thursday afternoon says there are no suspected cases in the community at this time.

The band announced a lockdown in the isolated village of Klemtu Wednesday as a case of the virus was suspected.

With its lifting, however, it's still urging members and residents to continue precautionary measures and telling those under travel precautions they need to complete their designated time.
