Open Burning Okay again on Friday

Kathy Brookes

Open burning will be permitted by the province again -- starting at noon on Friday -- across the Northwest.

The B.C. Wildfire Service says campfires, as well as Category 2 and 3 open burning, will again be allowed.

But the service says, although rain and cooler temperatures have lowered fire danger ratings in the region, it is strongly encouraging the public to exercise caution with any outdoor burning or campfire use.

It also notes people should check with local government authorities to see if any local burning restrictions are in place.
