Thornhill Boil Water Advisory Rescinded

Kathy  Brookes

There is good news about the water supply, as Thornhill residents ring in the New Year.

Late this afternoon, the Kitimat Stikine Regional District announced the Boil Water Advisory for the Thornhill community water system has been rescinded.

A news release says RD staff had disinfected the main domestic water storage facilities and flushed the distribution systems and repeated lab tests indicate no presence of Total Coliform Bacteria.

The Boil Water Advisory was issued December 14th.

Thornhill residents are urged to run their taps and clean out refrigerator ice makers and coffee and water filters now that the water is confirmed as safe to consume.

The regional district is still investigating the cause of the test results that led to the advisory being posted.
