Victim of Workplace Incident at Brucejack Mourned

Family members have confirmed the name of the man killed last weekend in a workplace accident at the Brucejack Gold Mine north of Stewart.

Sixty-one-year-old Patrick Critch was superintendent of operations at the mine, and was injured Friday during support facility maintenance on the surface. He died two days later at Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace.

Critch was from Newfoundland and Labrador, and had worked at mines in many parts of Canada.  

Pretium Resources President and CEO Jacques Perron promised a full investigation of the tragedy, adding the company's immediate focus is to support the man's family, friends and colleagues.
