PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. -- Terrace RCMP say the driver of a lookalike taxi attempted to have a boy get into his vehicle.

The boy told police that he was waiting for a ride in front of his elementary school on Thursday when a vehicle that looked like a taxi cab pulled up beside him and told him to enter the car.

The boy said the vehicle was coloured yellow and had the number 44 on it. RCMP say they contacted cab companies throughout the region and found that none of them have yellow taxis.

Police say no offences have been committed at this time, but they are requesting help from the public in identifying the vehicle.

If you have any information on it -- or if you see a vehicle that matches the description -- police say do not approach it or talk to its occupants. Instead, people are advised to contact either Terrace RCMP or Crimestoppers.
