PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. -- Just one day after it had to temporarily close its doors due to a heating issue, Coast Mountain School District had to close Hazelton Secondary school again yesterday due to a staff shortage. The school will be closed today as well.

The closure is a "functional closure," which can happen when too many employees are absent to operate the school in a safe manner.

The school district will be reviewing the school's workforce availability for the remainder of the week tomorrow afternoon.

The school was closed on Monday because the heat wouldn't turn on, but that issue has since been resolved.

Parents can check the Coast Mountain School District's website for updates.
