Highway 37A Both Directions Highway 37A, in both directions. Travel advisory planned between Pearly Gates and Surprise Pullout/Windy Chain Up for 33.9 km (12 km east of Stewart to 13 km west of Meziadin). Starting Sun Dec 1 at 11:00 PM PST until Tue Dec 3 at 6:00 AM PST. Highway is currently open. Highway may close for Avalanche Control or for High Avalanche Hazard. HIGHWAY IS CURRENTLY OPEN. 70-160mm of precipitation, strong winds with rising temperatures are forecast for the area starting today through Tuesday morning and additional storms expected through the week. This will add a significant amount of load to the snowpack and avalanche activity may have the potential to impact the highway. The highway may close for Avalanche Control or High Avalanche Hazard. If the highway closes, the highway may remain closed for an extended period of time. Timing and duration of actual closure will depend on weather received, avalanche activity observed, and the extent of any avalanche deposit removal required.
